Dear Black Men…
I value you. I speak for my sisters who know this and for those who are still trying to figure out just how valuable you are.
I stroll through my news feeds seeing your mugshots. The media using the most unappealing one they can find. They attempt to portray you as a monster. But what they failed to mention is employers aren’t hiring you, banks won’t lend you money to start your own business, and the powers that be set traps for you everyday just to get you caught up because they know how badly you long to provide for yourself and your family.
But what makes it worst? My sisters sharing it and commenting on what you trying to do to support them. Do not be mistaken, I am not justifying wrongdoings. I am showing compassion, because I know the issues are deeper than what’s being shown on the 5 tv networks owned by the same group of people.
Let me remind you again, I value you. If you made it out of high school, you already beat one statistic. If you make it home at night, you escaped being at the wrong place at the wrong time with possibly being in the presence of a person who know may or may not acknowledge your value.
The truth is… You’re the most feared human on the Earth.
Keep ya head up. I’m rooting for you.
With love,
B
