“Don’t catch feelings!” seems to be the line for the millennial generation.
The phrase is subjective; it’s interpretation varies by the individual.
I’m more interested in how we have ALLOWED society to corrupt our minds to go against the very reason God created man and woman.
Each made distinctively to fulfill His purpose but both made in His image – LOVE.
A God who is that gracious, that kind, and that loving wouldn’t be pleased to know that His people are creating barriers of pride, overly independence, and selfishness among themselves in order to APPEAR strong, not lonely, or vulnerable.
We gotta get away from this nonsense of not being real with ourselves and understand nations were built off of unisons of men and women who weren’t afraid or too egotistical to express how they felt, admit when they needed help, and aware of how they needed each other to survive.
Regardless of the type of relationship – platonic or romantic – we need each other.

Wow!!! I completely agree!!! We need each other more now than ever! God created man and woman to be together. He told us to be fruitful! But somehow someway in society we have gone astray. Society have us believing that we are weak when we love one another.
This is an interesting and thought provoking post. I definitely agree that a person has to find a balance between solitude and clinginess; it is not easy for some people (such as myself) to find that balance. Sometimes giving up a certain degree of independence may cause a person to be vulnerable. That creates a paradox since two is almost always better than one. And there is certainly strength in numbers. Platonic relationships are golden. Romantic relationships are fascinating!
So true! We are designed for companionship and community! Galatians 6:2, “Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.” How can we even teach and encourage one another unless we build relationships. Great read 🙂
