Contentment isn’t the same as being satisfied. You can be happy in pursuit of what you’re working towards. Paul said in Philippians 4:11 “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.” In order for him to say “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” [Phil. 4:13], he knew what it meant to be abased and abound.
