So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for[f] a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Luke 11: 9 – 12
Our natural instincts draw us to ask our parents, loved ones, and friends for the things we want and need. Of course our parents are our caregivers since birth and who doesn’t love girls’ night? But often times we look for those around us and even the world to give us the things we stand in need of. However, God tells us in Luke that all we have to do is ASK. That’s it! No catch or fine print. He said Ask and it will be given; seek and you shall find. Let us not look for the desires of our heart from others or this world but the One who can give us all that we stand in need of.
Prayer: Father, I know that You know what I need before I even ask. I come to you with confidence knowing that what I ask will be granted. I vow to keep my eyes completely fixed on You to see the miracles You have for me each day. Amen.
